ADHOPE model for high transmission area is to work closely with commercial sex workers and truck drivers thereby giving them information about:
- The prevention of HIV
- Distribution of condoms
- Demonstrating on the correct and consistent use of condoms.
Our strategy is successful as we have peer health promotion and education program, outreach activities and provision of accessible and acceptable sexual health services.
We train our carers on the best way to approach the sex workers and truck drivers and in the long run we have managed to get a few of sex workers to join us on our computer skills training, sewing and braiding.
